Tips Agar Anak Tidak Rewel dalam Perjalanan

Tips for Children Not to Be Cranky During Travel

Parenting 1505

At the end of this year's holiday season, do you plan to go to your hometown or go on holiday to faraway places? If so, remember to prepare everything you need for the trip! Starting from medicines to objects that might help you feel comfortable in a vehicle during a trip. Long travel times usually make small children fussy and often cry. Even so, we must remain calm and not let it affect us because kids cannot control their emotions, so they can only express their discomfort by crying.

No specific rules state at what age children can be taken on long trips. But it's better not to take babies under three months to travel or even just to a crowded public place because the baby's immune system is still weak, so getting an infection is easy. If the child feels more ready and stronger to be invited to travel far, then prepare his needs during the trip.

Tips to make children comfortable on long trips

1. Fulfill children's basic needs

If the child is fussy on the way, something must make him uncomfortable. Find the cause so parents can solve the problem and make the child comfortable again. You can ask the child directly or look for the reason if he still can't express his thoughts.

2. Create a comfortable atmosphere in the vehicle

Traveling by vehicle, even if just sitting, will be tiring if the time required is long enough. The atmosphere of being in a vehicle for hours will make children feel "trapped" because their movements are limited, and they see many strangers when they use public transportation. Choose transportation that is friendly to your little one's condition so they can feel relaxed in their seats. Parents can also provide entertainment, such as songs or shows they like.

3. Anticipate motion sickness

For children taking part in a long trip for the first time, we may not be able to know whether they have motion sickness. Always have anti-motion sickness medicine so when we need it, we have supplies. Do not leave the stomach empty to avoid colds or nausea. But also don't give him too much to eat, drink, or snack because the potential for defecation will increase.

4. Train children before traveling

It may seem strange, but introducing children to the vehicles that will be used for long trips can be one of those efforts. If using an inter-city bus, you could take your child to go by bus to a closer destination first, likewise with trains and even private vehicles. This method is quite helpful for children who have never traveled in a vehicle that is familiar to them before.

5. Pay attention to the child's psychological comfort

Children who have never traveled far may feel uncomfortable with the situation. Usually, they only feel the atmosphere of home, but suddenly having to meet lots of strangers they don't know can be reason to make them scared and finally become cranky. We can let them do activities like watching, playing games, etc. Remember to always ask for their comfort.

Those tips ensure children are not cranky when traveling to their hometown or going on a long trip.

If the cause of fussy children is undetected, parents should have them checked by a doctor. Because it could be a health problem, have a great vacation, Ladies!
