Causes of body odor

Who here struggled with body odor? All possible means have been tried, from controlling the food intake, changing deodorant products, properly cleaning the armpits, and so on. Still, these methods are less effective for people who sweat more.

Moreover, body odor is undoubtedly something you keep thinking about for people who sweat more. This is because the bacteria in the sweat in the body's folds, such as the armpits, are prone to breaking down and again causing unpleasant body odor. Therefore, the clothes we wear every day should be comfortable and absorb sweat well.

Clothing materials that are sensitive to body odor

Although, in principle, almost all kinds of fabrics can absorb sweat, some have poor absorption. How much sweat can be absorbed depends on the fiber structure of the material. In general, fabrics made from natural fibers can provide better absorption, so there is less risk of causing body odor. Here are some types of clothing materials to avoid to reduce body odor issues:

1. Polyester

Even though some sportswear materials use polyester, it turns out that this material is one to avoid if your body produces more sweat than most people. This is because polyester is made from oil-based fibers that can store chemicals and acids commonly associated with causing body odor.

2. Nylon

As mentioned, clothes made not from natural fibers usually have difficulty absorbing sweat. Well, nylon is made from synthetic fibers without a blend of natural fibers, so nylon falls into the very low absorbency category. Typically, clothing with nylon material is more commonly used as swimwear or apparel made to move comfortably in water because it is lighter when worn in the water. Nylon material is also non-breathable, so even if it's thin, it still feels warm when worn.

3. Clarissa Satin

Pink Shiny Silk Fabric Texture

Usually, satin is often associated with cool and soft clothing materials such as velvet satin, silk, and damask satin. But of the types of satin, Clarissa satin is not recommended for those of you who have problems with excessive sweating and body odor. This satin type is stiff, thick, and difficult to absorb sweat. Usually, Clarissa satin is made into blouses, tutu skirts, or balloon skirts.

4. Hycon Chiffon

Chiffon material also has its grades. Usually, a good chiffon has a more airy character because of the hollow that allows easy air circulation. However, Hycon chiffons have a slightly rough and hot fabric texture, even though it has a thinner and smoother fabric. Hycon chiffons often cling to sweaty skin. It's all because of the Hycon chiffon's low ability to absorb sweat.

5. Crepe

Usually, crepe derivatives are difficult to absorb sweat, e.g., bubble crepe. This fabric is made of polyester. Although it looks light and soft and has a falling effect, bubble crepe has the same properties as bubble polyester, which is difficult to absorb sweat.

Those are some clothing materials to avoid if you have problems with excessive sweat production and body odor. Choose clothes that are comfortable and can handle the problem of body odor so you can look more confident!
