The pandemic situation facilitates the need to recover from the general or specific loss of knowledge and skills and the decline in the academic process due to certain factors (learning loss) as feared by Nadiem Makarim, adding to the reasons for the importance of implementing this Prototype Curriculum.
Head of the Educational Standards, Curriculum and Assessment Agency (BSKAP), Anindito Aditomo explained on the kemendikbud.go.id page that the Prototype Curriculum aims to create more space to develop students' primary character and skills, such as literacy and numeracy. Then, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) admitted that there were several school criteria that were declared eligible to implement the 2022 Prototype Curriculum.
Anindito also mentioned that the first criteria for schools that are interested in implementing the 2022 Prototype Curriculum are to fix and improve their learning methods. Later, the Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology will prepare materials explaining the 2022 Prototype Curriculum concept, he continued. In his personal Instagram, Anindito also said "Principals/madrasahs who want to implement the 2022 prototype curriculum, will be asked to study the material."
After studying the 2022 Prototype Curriculum, schools can decide to try and later will be asked to fill out a registration form and a short survey. He stated emphatically, that this is the nature of registration and data collection. Not a selection. So, it doesn't mean only good schools or those located in cities. He also added that the Ministry of Education and Culture believes that the successful implementation of the 2022 Protoitpe Curriculum depends on the willingness of school principals and teachers to understand and adapt the curriculum in their respective contexts.
Anindito also added that there was no selection in the school registration process to adapt the 2022 Prototype Curriculum and emphasized that if there was media stating that the Ministry of Education and Culture made the selection, then it was confirmed to be a hoax.
