What Is My Ideal Weight?

Health 1504

Ladies, have you ever been confused when setting a target weight during a diet program? The ideal body weight from one person to another is undoubtedly different. A person's ideal body weight is influenced by gender and height. Specifically for children, it is also influenced by age.

In addition to being a goal in a diet program, ideal body weight can also be used to measure our body's current state of health. There are at least two ways to determine the ideal body weight for our body condition: by using the recommended body weight table and the Body Mass Index (BMI), or what is called Body Mass Index (BMI) in Indonesian.

Recommended body weight table
Through the Directorate of Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (P2PTM), the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia has released a table of recommended weights for self-assessment or self-assessment by the public of their body weight. By using the factors of gender, height, and body shape, we can determine whether our weight is considered ideal. The following is a table of recommended weights for women.

Body mass index
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), body mass index is a measure that indicates the nutritional status of a person's body. This calculation method has been developed to determine the health risks associated with body weight. When our BMI value increases, our risk of certain diseases also increases. To calculate it, you can use data on body weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. As an example, if there is a person with a body weight of 70 kg and a height of 1.7 m, then his body mass index can be calculated in the following way:

Body Mass Index = Weight kg / Height m^2
Bmi 1

After knowing the results of BMI calculations, we will compare them with the guide table regarding nutritional status.
