Breast pain before the period is a common thing that is often experienced by women. This is part of the Pre-Menstruation Syndrome. Breast pain and swelling are usually caused by hormonal fluctuations that occur before your period. Usually, enlarged breast ducts are caused by the hormone estrogen. The mammary glands will also enlarge due to the hormone progesterone. Both of these hormones cause pain in the breast.

How To Treat Breast Pain Before Period

There are several things that you can do to treat your breast pain before your period. These are tips on how to maintain your breast pain :

1. Avoid Foods Which Contain High Fat and Caffeine

You should avoid high-fat foods before your period comes. The symptoms of pain can be prevented by avoiding high-fat foods and caffeine.  Its recommended to consume lots of vegetables and fruit to boost hormone production and blood circulation. Foods that can be consumed are nuts, carrots, spinach, wheat, and avocado. Avoid consuming caffeine, so the pain during menstruation can be avoided. 

2. Take Vitamins

Vitamins are very helpful to maintain the pain before the period. Generally, the vitamins consumed are vitamins that contain 400 mg of magnesium and 400 IU of vitamin E. Vitamins will make your body more energetic.

3. Exercise

Exercise will overcome pain before menstruation. Because exercise can improve your blood circulation. If the blood circulation runs smoothly, then the premenstrual pain will be able to be handled.

The progesterone and estrogen hormones will increase during the 28-day cycle. The progesterone hormone usually begins to increase, a week before menstruation occurs. Meanwhile, estrogen increases in the middle of the cycle. One of the best ways to keep all these hormone processes running smoothly is exercise. There are various exercises that can be done, such as jogging, running, swimming, and others.

4. Wearing A Bra

Choose the right type of bra for everyday use, to minimize the occurrence of breast pain. Try not to wear a narrow and tight bra, so that your blood circulation becomes smooth. 

5. Do BSE (Breast Self-Examination)

Try to do BSE, which is breast self-examination for early detection of breast disorders. If the breast pain is immeasurable then it should be checked. Try to always check the condition of your own breasts.

6. Drink More Water

Try to drink lots of water every day. This is intended for good circulation and metabolism. Drinking lots of water will improve your blood circulation. Drink water at least two liters per day. However, for ladies who have a rather large body, it's recommended to drink water a minimum of three liters per day.
