Pubic Hair Shaving Tips

Health 1707

When someone is entering puberty, the hormones in the body begin to develop and physical changes occur. Hair growth in the pubic area is an example of growth and physiological changes.

For some women, having and growing thick pubic hair is uncomfortable. Therefore, special attention is needed to care for these parts. But unfortunately, shaving hair in the pubic area is not the same as shaving hair in other areas. We have to be extra careful especially after the after-effects sometimes cause very severe itching which sometimes irritates.

Here are ways and things to watch out for when shaving pubic hair.

  1. Split the shaver
Do not mix other parts of the shaver with the pubic hair shaver. That's because the genital area contains bacteria and yeast that can spread fungi like ringworm to other areas of the skin.

  2. Cut with scissors first
You could wash or wash the female area with water beforehand. Use scissors that are small in size and sterilized with alcohol first. Trimming the hair in the pubic area should be extra careful not to accidentally injure the skin. Trim the pubic hair, but remember not to trim it completely. Cut it off by leaving a small pubic hair shaft. The function of trimming pubic hair first is to make it easier to shave later on while also preventing the chance of ingrown hairs.

  3. Wet the surface before shaving
It is not recommended to shave in a dry state. You can wash it with plain water or warm water, which acts as a lubricant and relaxes the hair follicles, preventing the hair from pulling while shaving. You can also apply oil afterward to prevent a rash from shaving.

  4. Apply shaving cream or gel
Usually found in shaving products that use a spatula. Gently apply shaving foam or gel for a nice shave. You can apply it by hand (no brush needed).

  5. Shave the hair in the direction it grows
Don't do it in the opposite direction of growth. Also, make sure the lighting is perfect so you can see clearly to avoid razor bumps. You can also do it by looking at a mirror so you can see more clearly and avoid mistakes. Do it gently and slowly. When you're done, don't forget to clean your razor again, and make sure to dry it later so it doesn't rust.

  6. Rinse and dry
Rinse with clean water and make sure there are no more hairs stuck to it. If you use shaving cream, make sure to clean it completely to avoid itchiness. Don't forget to dry it with a towel afterward.

  7. Apply moisturizing cream
Moisturizers can treat and prevent itching or irritation after shaving. You can use aftershave lotion or aloe vera gel that does not contain alcohol or perfume.

While it has advantages in reducing the feeling of comfort in the presence of too thick and annoying hair, it should be noted that pubic hair has a function as a protective intimate organ. So please reconsider and don't shave your pubic hair too often. Hope it helps!
